Started Pups & Started Dogs

Started Pups

We offer Started Pups as an option for our clients who would prefer to miss the “puppy stage.”

Our Started Pups are typically
6-8 months old
Accustomed to walking calmly on lead at heel
Accustomed to water
Accustomed to crates/kennels
Accustomed to gun fire
Reliably delivering retrieved objects to hand
Hunting a specific area on command
&
Preliminary steadiness has been achieved

At this stage of development, they are polite partners.

Started Dogs

We also offer Started Dogs on a limited basis.

Our Started Dogs are an extention of our Started Pups and are typically:

14-18 months old
Obedient/heels on and off lead
Steady to shot
Reliably delivering retrieved objects (including dead & live birds) to hand
Hunting a specific area (including remotely) on command
Reliably responding to whistle (stop, hunt, and recall)
Taking casts
Reliably picking up blind retrieves out to 200 yards
.

Our training program is not centered around a device;
we do not use electronic collars.
We focus on the relationship between the dog and handler.
